The Foundation
The Foundation for Economic History Research within Banking and Enterprise was founded in 1994. The Foundation has no capital of its own, but gets its funding from Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation, Marianne and Marcus Wallenberg Foundation and Marcus and Amalia Wallenberg Foundation.
The main purpose of the Foundation is to promote research into the economic history of banking and industry.
To fulfill this purpose the Foundation compiles, organizes and administers records that originate from Stockholms Enskilda Bank (1856-1971) and the associated investment company Investor AB with subsidiaries, the Wallenberg family and certain foundations. The records are made available to scientific research within above mentioned areas.
During the years the Foundation has made records available for a number of scientific purposes to a number of scientific researchers.
The Foundation has completed the digitization of the records concerning Stockholms Enskilda Bank and begun to digitize the personal records.
